| Long Abstract | TYPO3 4.6 takes the opportunity to introduce new requirements and cleaning code from old, deprecated, options. This is made possible thanks to the 4.5 release which will be supported until 2014. MS Internet Explorer 6 support has been dropped for the backend. So are older versions of GraphicsMagick and ImageMagick and PHP 5.3 is now a requirement. But TYPO3 4.6 will be much more than a trimmed-down version of 4.5 as it includes a completely reworked localization handling based on XLIFF and Pootle that shall be used by the v5 as well. In short, this talk is about presentating the changes, the new features and how to use them. |

Xavier Perseguers
Xavier Perseguers (31) is founder and CEO of Causal Sàrl in Fribourg Switzerland. He is Release Manager of TYPO3 4.6 after having joined the TYPO3 Core Team in 2009 where he took over the leadership of the database abstraction layer, allowing TYPO3 to connect to various DBMS such as MSSQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL in addition to MySQL.
In its spare time he enjoys writing technical TYPO3 tutorials and, besides that, playing or listening to classical and pop music and singing in a choir.
