Multidomain publishing from a single pagetree

Long Abstract In standard TYPO3-installations all contents are managed either in a single tree or in multiple trees. That usually fits the need of managing different languages but with the current raise of mobile applications there is a need to manage content for each target separately to fit the needs.

Our approach is not to duplicate the tree or to manage the different domains as sys_languages. n@work is developing the extension multidomain_publishing which allows to assign records to all or specific domains. Additionally the typoscript can be modified to use specific templates for each domains. The extension will be published during the conference.

This allows you to not only decide which content is shown on user base but also on domain base. This offers a lot of new possibilities to serve content to exactly the target it belongs to.

Thomas Hempel used to be a Core Developer for several years. He quit that "job" to concentrate on other things. Namely as the leader of the TYPO3 Event Committee.

He is still working a lot with TYPO3 at his day time job for n@work in Hamburg.

He is a professing Apple fanboy and beside TYPO3 he likes RC-cars, videogames, photography and his fiancée. He doesn't have an espresso machine though.
